Adhesive
Product Brief:
Product Details:
Adhesives can be used to bond various materials such as metal, glass, wood, paper, fiber, rubber, plastic, etc., to produce a whole with a function or performance greater than the sum of its parts. The adhesive bonding method is increasingly replacing the mechanical coupling method, which is mainly due to the following advantages of the adhesive bonding method.

(1) Materials such as films, fibers and small particles are not good or easy to be connected by other methods, and it is easy to bond together with adhesives. Typical examples of such applications are: lamination of various plastic films such as polyethylene, aluminum foil, cotton fabric and paper; glass wool insulation and wool fiberglass composite materials; grinding wheels, sandpaper, emery cloth and brake pads; rayon , Nylon, polyester and fiberglass-reinforced tires; corrugated board, paper bags, labels, tapes, stamps and envelopes; safety glass; non-woven fabrics and flocked fabrics or carpets filled with cotton, lint or fine velvet; particles Board or particle board, furniture decorative board or polaroid board, etc.

(2) Compared with traditional weaving and weaving methods, metal welding methods and mechanical coupling methods such as riveting, bolting or nailing, adhesive bonding methods may be faster and more economical, which is often an important reason for using bonding methods .

(3) Different materials (such as aluminum-paper, iron-copper, etc.) can be combined together. Moreover, when bonding two metals, the adhesive can separate them to prevent corrosion. When the thermal expansion coefficients of the two adherends are very different, the flexible adhesive can reduce the gravity caused by temperature changes. The performance of laminates of different materials is better than that of any adhered material.

(4) The stress is distributed in a larger area, which can reduce the fatigue damage of the assembly and may be lighter and stronger than the mechanical connection. Such as the bonding of aircraft wings or tail wings to the fuselage.

(5) The strength-mass ratio and dimensional stability of anisotropic materials can be improved by cross-bonding. For example, wood with its own non-uniformity and water sensitivity can be transformed into warp-resistant and water-resistant plywood; the random fiber fleece can be bonded to make an isotropic non-woven fabric.

(6) In capacitors, printed circuits and filling resistors, glued wires can provide electrical insulation.

(7) The glue line can act as a moisture barrier. For example, in packaging laminates, the glue line greatly increases the moisture resistance.

In the United States, almost 80% of the current adhesive demand comes from the packaging and construction industry, and packaging adhesives are still growing.
